Erin Diagnostic Imaging a multi-modality Diagnostic Centre that is committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care in a professional, compassionate, and collaborative environment. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our growing team.

Position Summary

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs comprehensive ultrasound examinations while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and professionalism throughout the imaging process. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise, effective communication skills, and a commitment to outstanding patient care.                     

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • Current registration and good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Proof of professional liability insurance in accordance with CMRITO requirements
  • Competency in performing Abdominal, Pelvic, Obstetrical and Small Parts Ultrasound exams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients and healthcare professionals
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and patient-centred care
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Additional Qualifications

  • Registration and good standing with Sonography Canada (CRGS/CRVS)
  • Experience in Vascular, Breast, and Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound
  • Fetal Medicine Foundation Nuchal Translucency Certification and Registration with Better Outcomes Registry Network (BORN) Ontario
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician requisitions and clinical protocols
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images and accurately document findings for radiologist interpretation
  • Prepare, position, and support patients throughout examinations while maintaining a compassionate bedside manner
  • Utilize RIS/PACS systems efficiently and accurately
  • Ensure imaging equipment is functioning optimally and report/service equipment issues as required
  • Follow all infection prevention and control procedures, including proper disinfection of endocavity transducers, room disinfection, and appropriate use of PPE
  • Adapt examinations to meet patient needs, limitations, and comfort levels
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory and safety standards
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development initiatives
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, technologists, and clinic staff
  • Participate in peer review and quality improvement initiatives
