Job description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sonographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing various medical conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of medical imaging techniques, excellent patient care skills, and proficiency in interpreting ultrasound images. The Sonographer will play a vital part in providing high-quality diagnostic services to patients, ensuring accurate results and a comfortable experience.
Duties
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concerns
- Perform routine procedures in accordance with established methods as described in departmental Policies and Procedures manuals, while documenting high quality images. Including but not limited to abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts.
- Experience in musculoskeletal would be an asset
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow
- Ensure the quality and clarity of images for accurate diagnosis
- Maintain detailed patient records and document procedures performed
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team and provide comprehensive reports
- Follow safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure patient and staff safety
- Keep equipment clean, calibrated, and in proper working condition
- Stay updated with advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques
Skills
- Completion of an accredited degree/post diploma Ultrasound program, or recognized equivalent.
- Registered in good standing with College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
- Current credentialed member of Sonography Canada.
- Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) program.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and staff
- Attention to detail for capturing precise images necessary for diagnosis
- Ability to operate ultrasound equipment with technical proficiency
- Good organizational skills for managing patient records and documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively within our healthcare team
